10 motions - Abbreviated version(s):

Motion by the Monterrey Chapter: 
1)
  ASHRAE create an international work experience program for ASHRAE student branch members by electronically posting international job experience opportunities for undergraduates. This motion passed and will be forwarded to Regions Council.

Motions by the Dallas Chapter:
2)
  ASHRAE provide the “62MZCalc” spreadsheet that assists in the Ventilation Rate Procedure Calculations with the base Standard 62.1-2004 and make this updated spreadsheet available on the web site and not solely available with the 62.1 User’s Manual.  This motion passed and will be forwarded to Regions Council.

3)  Bill Klock, P.E. from the Austin Chapter to serve as Region VIII Treasurer for the 2006-2009 three year term.  This motion passed and will be implemented by the Region.

4)  Approve the operating budget for Region VIII for the 2006-2007 fiscal year.  This motion passed and will be implemented by the Region.

5)  That Section 7.5 (Chapters Regional Council) of Article VII (Committees) of the ASHRAE Bylaws remain as currently written.  This motion passed and will be forwarded to Regions Council.

6)  That Section 4.1 (Membership) of Article IV (Board of Directors) of the ASHRAE Bylaws is revised to include DRCs as voting members of the Society Board of Directors.  This motion passed and will be forwarded to Regions Council.

Motion by the Houston Chapter:
7)  Membership (products, registration fees and dues) and Publication Education (products and services) provide pricing adjustments to accommodate economic disparities for developing countries.  This motion passed and will be forwarded to Regions Council.

Motions by the Monterrey Chapter:

  Translation Policy  This motion was tabled.

9)  Rule of the Board 510-140-020 (Translation Policy) and 510-140-02 (Translation Policy) by recended by July 1, 2006.  This motion passed and will be forwarded to Regions Council.

10)   ASHRAE’s Board of Directors establish an ad hoc committee by July 1, 2006 to establish a translation policy.  This motion passed and will be forwarded to Regions Council.
